Clay Mask

My Bentonite Clay (Calcium Montmorillonite) comes from naturally occurring volcanic ash sediment.  Pure and clean without any additives.  It has been used by Native American healers for centuries as an internal and external healing agent.  The Native American would use this mineral rich clay on open wounds and for stomach or intestinal distress.  Through research and experiments, this clay has been shown to actually absorb toxins such as heavy metals, free radicals, and pesticides, through the intestinal tract, which becomes subject to immediate elimination.  Used in a bath it can actually draw out chemicals through the pores of the skin.

Using Pure Bentonite Clay as a mask it absorbs dirt, oil and toxins from the surface of the skin, cleanses, tightens and tones.  Great for purifying the skin.  The best Clay for facials, body wraps, poultices and detoxifying clay baths.

Ingredients:
Pure Calcium Bentonite/Montmorillonite Clay.   Mineral Content:   Silica Dioxide, Calcium Oxide, Magnesium Oxide, Potassium Oxide, Sodium Oxide, Ferric Oxide, Phosphoric, Selenium Oxide, Boron Oxide, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Oxide.

How To Use:
Take about 1 teaspoon of the bentonite clay powder and about 1 teaspoon of water, put it in a bowl or cup then mix well until it forms a paste consistency. If you use a spoon to mix, make sure it is not metal.  This causes metals to leach into the clay, making the clay not as effective.  You can add a little more water or a little more powder.

Apply the bentonite clay mask to your face.  Some people also spread it down their neck and upper chest. I use my fingers, but a cotton ball or cosmetic sponge also works great.

Leave the mask on for about 20 to 30 minutes.  As the mask dries, your face will start to feel tight Rinse off the mask using just water. You may have to gently scrub a little with your fingers to get it off.  It tends to try to stick to your skin.

After you rinse the mask off, your skin may look a little pink for a few minutes.  This usually happens to everyone after using the mask because the clay increases blood flow to your face as it pulls out toxins.

For Those with Sensitive Skin:

If you have sensitive skin, apply a thinner layer and leave the mask on for a shorter time.  Then increase the frequency and how long you leave it on depending on how your skin feels.

Many use the mask just a few times a week or once a week and have great results.  If it is  your first time applying a bentonite clay mask,  start out with doing it once a week and see how your skin responds, as it is quite powerful and this way you can work your way up to using it daily!
